FAQ – the most frequently asked questions
In the following overview you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions in the area of student housing.
In each room there is a bed with a bed drawer, a wardrobe, a desk, a chair and a shelf.
You have to bring your own pillow, duvet, bed linen, waste paper basket, table lamp, LAN cable and TV cable. In the dormitories in Neubrandenburg you can also bring curtains (curtain rod is available). Do not forget the kitchen utensils you need!
The rent is an all-inclusive rent. Extra costs only arise from the registration of the telephone connection and the use of television and radio (radio contribution).

Washing machines and tumble dryers are available in laundry centers in each dormitory for a fee.
The dormitories have bicycle parking spaces. In the dormitory in Ernst-Thälmann-Ring there is a bicycle cellar for the tenants and lockable storage facilities are available for the residents of Makarenkostraße, Wilhelm-Holtz-Straße and Geschwister-Scholl-Straße. In the Fleischerwiese and in Holzhausen there are parking spaces for bicycles. In Neubrandenburg there are bicycle storage rooms in every dormitory.
A limited number of parking spaces are available for the dormitories. For the dormitory complex Fleischerwiese in Greifswald, please get a parking permit from the caretaker, otherwise your car will be towed away at a charge. Please apply for the parking permit in advance in writing by e-mail to the housing department, stating your car number plate.
The monthly rent is debited from your account by the 10th of the month at the latest.
The keys are handed over during the caretaker's office hours from Monday to Friday. You can find out who is the caretaker of your future dormitory and which office hours are available in the house rules, which you will receive together with the rental contract. If you are unable to come to the dormitory during office hours, please call the caretaker beforehand to make an appointment.
In Neubrandenburg, you will receive the keys from the dormitory management upon conclusion of the rental contract.
You can apply online for a change of residence, in which you can state your wish. If you are moving in again, the request will be processed after 6 months of living at the earliest. Each tenant is allowed to move a maximum of 1 time! The removal request expires when your wish is granted and a move has taken place. In case of a move a moving fee according to the scale of charges is due.
